Finally - it’s been a long week! Derrick has had practice the past 5 out of 8 days. Today he has a game at noon. Nothing much really going on this week. I pretty much took it easy. Thursday I went to Goldsboro for a meeting and that was the extent of my excitement. Xavier’s been a hoot though. He now says “next please” when we are listening to his Blue’s Clues cd and he doesn’t like the song playing. It’s really cute. He also has learned personal hygiene -

He’s also learning to put on his own diaper - he’s got a ways to go…
Last but not least - I think it’s time for a hair cut!

I plan to do something that NEEDS to be done in the house. Mostly just small “improvements”, nothing major. Last weekend I got a storage unit and cleaned out the garage.
Here’s a picture of the “final” outcome. I didn’t have a before but trust me it was BAAAAAD!!!

Also last week, we finally received two pieces that we’ve been waiting for. Xavier has been using Derrick’s old toy box. It was ok, but we put ALL his toys in there and when Xavier wanted a specific toy he would throw EVERYTHING out until he found it. This is what I would be left with -

And this is now… I decluttered all his toys to a few selections. Organized them in the new toy/book organizer and added a Xavier size table and chairs. The old toybox is now upstairs with some toys still in it.

For this past weekend I had planned to 1)clean out the car and truck 2)vacuum out both vehicles 3)strip all the double-sided tape from the truck 4)shred papers 5)laundry 6)straighten up Xavier’s room(how his room gets so messy, I’ll never know) and finally put the bed cover on Geno’s truck - well I succeeded in cleaning out the car and truck, vacuuming the car, stripping the tape off and some laundry.
Sunday night I started feeling a little sick. Monday I stopped in at my work to get some petty cash. We have a HUGE pot hole in our parking lot and since I was off yesterday it would be the perfect time to fill it. The boys and I went to Home Depot and then back to work to fill the hole. Afterwards, I was so exhausted we went home and the rest of the day was spent on the couch watching TV. Turned out I had a fever of 99.8 so when Xavier went to bed we all went to bed.
The weekend wasn’t a complete success but it felt good to get done what I did, there is always next weekend!

I will post some more words tomorrow but I couldn’t pass up posting Xavier pics - I could post one of Derrick but it would be of him sleeping…the only time he won’t run!
Oh what the heck - here’s Derrick sleeping

Here’s Xavier enjoying his tricycle yesterday(1-13-07). Mamaw and Papaw Lolli got it for his birthday…

Everytime I get on the internet I find myself getting distracted in one thing or another. I end up getting into bed and thinking “Man, I forgot to update the website.” So after quite a few emails and phone calls to update…here I go:
Geno is doing ok. He’s not really liking what he’s doing since he is all about the excitement and there it’s anything but exciting there. He’s going to try to do the blog thing this weekend but the internet is super slow there and it’s expensive to get your own internet.
Derrick’s basketball team isn’t doing that well. They are 0-2 so far and have lost by about 20 points each of those games. I think the players are just too inexperienced and are playing against quite a few players that also play in the AU league that runs from March to August. I’m still proud of Derrick though. He blocks quite a few shots - if he could just get in a couple three pointers.
Xavier is also doing well. He’s on a streak though of waking up at 5am(on the dot), luckily, he falls back to sleep once I take him in bed with me. He’s also started crying at night when I put him to bed. I’m not quite sure why. It doesn’t last long - maybe a minute or two(if that) but it’s still sad. He’s moving to the “Blue Module” at daycare starting gradually on Tuesday then going fulltime there starting on the 22nd. That is a step below the 2 year old room but a step up from the infant(9mos and up) room. My little man is growing up.
I’m doing well these days too. Celebrating my 29th birthday today . . woohoo!!! Sharon at work brought in a cake and a card. I was totally blown away - I didn’t think anyone remembered - turns out she was the only one but hey, she’s really the only one that counts, right? It was nice though and they even sang “Happy Birthday” to me. I also received quite a few “Happy Birthday” calls, emails and text messages - thanks Sean for waking me up at 1am this morning. He wins the reward of wishing me “Happy Birthday” first.
Well, here are a few updated pictures of Xavier - hopefully I will get a few of Derrick this weekend…

Last year was a great year and I’m hoping to make the best of 2007!
I talked to Geno today. He seems to be doing well. He mentioned a “promotion” of sorts. I’m so proud of him. I’m not sure about how much of the details I can give on here so I will wait until he posts on his blog. He has the directions so hopefully he will be starting soon. For those that need the web address post on here that you need it or email me.
This weekend has been filled with adventure. I found out on Friday that Xavier’s daycare’s going to be closed 1/2/2007 so I might get tomorrow off, if Xavier’s babysitter isn’t available - I will find out last minute. I ordered Xavier a table & chairs set to go in his play area and another toybox that organizes a little better. His old toybox, which is actually Derrick’s old toybox will go upstairs in his room with a minimal amount of toys in it.
The Christmas decorations are put away for the season. I took the outside decorations down on Friday and the tree and inside decorations came down yesterday. I’m kind of glad. The next time I get them out it will be with Geno when he’s home.
Our New Year’s was pretty uneventful also. I was actually asleep when the new year rolled around but was quickly woken up by fireworks going off around the neighborhood. I can’t wait until we have our own place AWAY from civilization!!!
Sorry it’s taken me to post these but here are a few videos I took on Christmas Day.
