Not much happening around here unless you call Derrick getting an after-school detention news. Apparently, the boys in two classes were playing tackle football a couple weeks ago and got into some trouble. The football was taken away and the teacher/principal assumed that by taking the football away the boys would know that meant no physical contact sports - well, boys will be boys and they created a new game which resulted in a child getting clothes-hung. So all the boys involved in the game or sitting on the side lines were given after-school detention. Derrick WASN’T the one that clothes-hung the boy or the one clothes-hung….luckily. Anyway, today was the last day I had to get off work early to go get him…
Other then that - work is slow going. The best part is anticipating Geno’s phone call every morning - sometimes it comes sometimes it doesn’t.
This weekend I’ve got basic things to do - straighten up the house(it’s not that bad though), go through pictures and sort those, organize all the papers I didn’t shred, and burn shows for Geno to send with my next package. We might even take a bike ride if I can get my tires looked at and Derrick’s tire’s fixed.
The weather has become semi-nice. This week it’s been in the lower to mid-60’s and mostly sunny. For all those up north….
Well, that’s all for now…it’s time to hit the hay and get some sleep before tomorrow starts.

Howdy! Life here in NC is going by. This week had to be the SLOWEST week of all… Maybe because I wanted the weekend so bad… Needless to say it was an eventful week. Derrick’s team lost the first round of single-elimination playoffs. The team played well…just wasn’t coached well. Xavier broke my printer. I could have sworn I bought it at Circuit City but my husband reminded me that it was the Epson I bought from Circuit City. The HP was purchased at Best Buy in Dayton right before Christmas 2005. So after calling Circuit City wanting to know why they couldn’t find the warrenty for my printer I finally called the RIGHT store, only to find out I NEVER bought the warrenty!!! I bought a $300 printer and didn’t buy the warrenty - can we say MORON! Well, I went and bought a printer (sorry Geno, I couldn’t ask you but the sale was supposed to end last night). It’s the exact same printer AND I made sure I bought a warrenty!
The cleaning people came on Friday and they did a tremendous job! I will be calling first thing tomorrow and thanking them. I walked in and it was a HUGE weight lifted off my shoulder!
Geno and I have decided to forego the trip to Disney World and head towards San Antonio (where we first met). We figured that Xavier may be a tad to young and that Sea World, Busch Gardens and the Alamo would be great places. Believe it or not I NEVER saw the Alamo the whole 4 months I was there… Plus, Sea World and Busch Gardens is free for military…woohoo! We will also travel to Austin so Geno can visit the home of his beloved Longhorns!
Well, that’s it for now…sorry this is short but it’s my bed time…here are a few pictures - more can be seen by clicking on the quad pics on the right hand side…

Whew…I’m beat! This week went by so-so. Some days it went by quickly, others seemed to drag on. Works still got me busy and that’s a good thing.
Last night Xavier and I went out to do a few errands. We had dinner at Rockola Cafe which was nice and Xavier picked ALL my broccoli off my plate. Afterwards I planned on stopping at 2 stores but quickly changed my mind and went to just one - Target. I was on the hunt for a few things but the two main ones were a 20-oz mug for Geno and a Kid Trailer for the back of my bike for Xavier. I was unsuccessful on both accounts. There were 2 different types of 20-oz mugs so I figured I would ask him which kind and get it today. They didn’t have any trailers either and according to the employee that I asked they don’t carry them any more. So I was 0-2 on main reasons for going there. I did end up getting some wash cloths, ALMOST got a new comforter that was PERFECT (except for the $110 pricetag - it’s still on the shelf) and a new file bin since our old one has been used and abused.
So todays plan was to go grocery shopping come home and put away all the refridgerated and frozen foods then head back out for a long day of shopping and cleaning. We accomplished EVERYTHING (except finding the mug for Geno - turns out he didn’t care which one and when I went back BOTH were gone!). I even found the bike trailer at TARGET!!!! So after, Target, Best Buy(DVD-R’s), Dick’s(for bike helmets for Xavier and I), Verizon Wireless(Derrick’s Migo - they were out), Circuit City(Derrick’s Migo - they were out), Staples (H2O), Subway(lunch), AC Moore(plant pots), Walmart(buns, slow-cooker liners, and Pediasure) - we headed home. Xavier slept from 14:15 to 17:05 and Derrick and I were able clean the downstairs. Derrick helps so much and I even got a hour and a half rest break before Xavier woke up.
Now the rest of my weekend is RELAXATION (after putting my clothes away upstairs)…woohooo! I just hope that we can KEEP the house clean. We have found someone to come to our house and help out a little. I’ve tried the past couple months since Geno’s gone and we decided that it would relieve a little stress if someone could come and help around. So they come once a month and I already feel the weight off a little.
Derrick is doing well. Basketball season is just about over. There is a single-elimination game on Wednesday and then that’s it. Chances are they will not make it past the first game. Now wait, don’t think I’m being a downer. When their own coach claims he’s not going to be coaching in this league next year and that he’s going to be coaching the AAU league so maybe he’ll “win some games” it’s hard not to want the season to get over with and get away from this coach. I will putting in a formal complaint on Thursday(providing they don’t win on Wednesday). It won’t do much but it’s sad - very very sad. Regardless of this season Derrick is excited about playing again next year which is GREAT! He’s signed up for Spring soccer only to find out he’s #30 on the waiting list! Turns out signups started Jan. 2nd - oops! Hopefully they will find more coaches and he can play. If not, then we will have a sports break until July when football starts.
Xavier is doing well also. Growing by the day - he’s just hilarious. I think he’s going to have the “Geoffrion”(my moms side of the family) humor - poor Geno!!!
He gave me a Valentine’s Day card and it was soooo sweet.

Well here are a few more random pictures I took over the last few days…

That’s how fast the past week and weekend have flown by. Works been keeping me busy with all the changes going on. I wented a few movies this weekend. So far my favorite has been James Patterson’s Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas. It’s a great story and made me smile, cry, laugh and cry all over again. It’s definately a chick flick but I highly recommend it.
Derrick had another basketball game yesterday. They played the team that they beat a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the game was one sided in the ref’s eyes. Derrick’s team accumulated over 12 fouls a half whereas the opposing team never got above 4. Let me remind you that it was this team that committed TWO technical fouls against Derrick’s team the last time they faced off. The ref’s made REALLY bad calls, including not calling the ball out of bounds when the other team dribbled it out and then back in on numerous occasions. Oh well, like I told Derrick - in 5 years (or even shorter) you won’t remember this season. Derrick fouled out yet again (half of those fouls weren’t really fouls though).
Xavier’s been doing well. He amazes me every day with the stuff he picks up. Derrick has been a HUGE help and loves playing with Xavier when I’m trying to get something done - dinner, dishes, laundry.
Here are a few pictures of Xavier. Thank you Mamaw and Papaw for finding the OSU sweatshirt. He walked around yesterday saying “Buckeyes”. He also as been favoring his baseball hat, backwards of course. I’m not exactly sure where he got that idea from to turn it around but if I try to put it the other way he turns it right back.

Xavier has been a little more exploritory when it comes to the bath…he loves laying on his belly and “flying” through the water…

Then he’s been playing “waterfall”…

And just being a ham…

Now if he would only start liking his hair getting washed….

the weekends over!!
It happened so fast this time. I guess it didn’t help we spent over 4 hours at the hospital yesterday dealing with a case of pink eye. Xavier woke up Saturday morning and his eye was all crusted over. I “de-crusted” it and took a shower. In the meantime Derrick came in to our room and asked “What’s wrong with Xavier’s eye?” I took one look at his bloodshot, droopy eye and realized “pink eye”. After Derrick’s basketball game(I kept Xavier from all of the other fans) we headed over to the hospital since AMIC (not sure what that stands for at the top of my head but it’s similar to an Urgent Care that only takes appointments) was booked. We waited about 2.5 hours to get called in to see an md, waited another 30-45 minutes waiting for the md once we were in a room, after 5-6 minutes of checking him over he agreed that it was pink-eye and we were sent to the hospital pharmacy to wait about 45 more minutes for the meds. Needless to say NOTHING got completed yesterday! Oh and Derrick’s team lost
We went over to Time-Warner to get a new remote and Xavier fell asleep in the back of the car. Normally, I don’t give Xavier “messy” foods to eat while we are driving. Normally dry cereal, pretzels, etc, things easy to pick up. Well, I knew he was tired and rather then have a screaming baby in the back seat I decided this battle wasn’t important and allowed him in his seat with a mini-serving of JIF peanut butter (thanks mom for introducing those to me - they have been a life saver). Well we didn’t even get off base before the little one was alseep. When I went to get out of the car this is what I saw -

I had to wash everything! Coat, carseat cover, Xavier, lol!
Today I had to explain what a “fender bender” was. After the boys got their haircut and we picked up some Elizabeth’s Pizza (YUMMY) we headed home. Just as our light turned green and we started to go a car got rearended so hard it knocked her car clear across the intersection and almost into a car across from us. Thankfully right behind us was a policeman and he was on sceen in no time. The lady was hit so hard her trunk flew up. I had to explain to Derrick who was at fault and why. We didn’t stay as witnesses because there were a TON of other people right around her, plus we didn’t see it actually happen just the sound of them hitting.
I would like to thank Randa Clay for the BEAUTIFUL new header and design of the blog. I highly recommend her if you ever want to start your own website and need a creative touch to your header. She has a God-given talent!
Well, that’s it for now. Hopefully everyone else had a great weekend! Take care.

the FIRST and probably ONLY SNOW we’ll get this winter season!!
Derricks school was delayed, eventually it closed, but the county school’s were open, there, I had to go to work. Luckily, Xavier’s daycare was only on a 2 hour delay.
Here are a couple pictures of Xavier exploring the snow - I wouldn’t say he enjoyed. He kept saying “cold”… oh, and his breakfast banana

This weekend we will be doing some straightening up, as usual. Derrick has a basketball game at 9:00a and then the boys WILL get their hair cut.
Sunday it’s relaxing….ahhh, I wake for the morning!
