Series Premier Week
Yup…this week started series premier week…among the list of shows to watch - CSI (Miami, Las Vegas and NY), NCIS, The Unit, Rules of Engagement, Til Death, Ghost Whisperer, Criminal Minds, Bones, House, Two & a Half Men and How I Met Your Mother…that’s to name a few. I’ve been saving them on the DVR and then burning them onto a dvd for Geno (and a couple shows for my mom that she misses).
Derrick is doing well in school. He got his interim report and he’s getting all A’s and a B (the B is in language arts). His trumpet practice is going well. His first concert is mid-December so I’m really looking forward to that. I’ll be taping it so Geno will be able to enjoy it. Football is going well. They lost their first game and tied their second. Yesterday’s game was disappointing. The ref’s made calls AFTER they blew the whistle that hurt our team. A parent was also dissatisfied with how the coach was coaching and decided to cause a scene. It only proved to me that our future is at risk when there are parents like these out there. Anyway, I have some pictures I will post at the end of this entry. He has also started his own website dedicated to Naruto. He has learned html codes and has become quite talented.
Xavier is doing very well also. He has started talking very well since getting his tonsils/adnoids taken out. It’s nice that he has started communicating with words rather than whining. He is very attached to “Daddy’s truck” and wants to ride in it all the time. I think he enjoys being high up and knowing that it is daddy’s truck. He will often look at the pictures on the wall and point out daddy. He has said a few times while pointing at them “that Daddy home”. If we ask him where’s daddy now he’ll say “Iraq” instead of “Irock” now… He has also learned his name and when asked will usually say “Yay-yer Lolli” or “Yay-yer Reece”…you have to catch him off guard though or he will close up and start acting silly. He likes to show you his muscles too. His favorite movies are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He has the new one and I went out and bought the old versions.
I am doing pretty well. My job still doesn’t have an end date. It was supposed to be tomorrow, however, there were some glitches in the new wirelss computers for the nurses/therapist so until those get straightened out I still have a job. I talked to the VP of Clinical Services on Tuesday and I asked her for at least a week or two notice. She agreed so lets see if I get it. The longer I stay the better. I do plan on looking for a new job but I’m going to be very selective and make sure it’s the job I will be happy in. I’m looking mainly on post so that when/if we PCS I can transfer into another job much easier. I’ve been slacking on running but plan on starting that up again. I’ve postponed the half marathon in December and moved it to April (I can’t remember if I mentioned it earlier). That way Geno will HOPEFULLY be home by then and can run with me or cheer me on to the finish line.
