Not so good news…
Well I know Geno is going to update his blog here in the next few days or so but it has been confirmed that he will be extended to 15 months. This means that he won’t be home at the beginning of December, more like the beginning of March. Though we half way expected this, it being confirmed has been short of devastating. We were looking very forward to being back together after such an emotionally draining deployment. The only good thing about this deployment is that Geno and my relationship (and in return our marriage) has overcome many mountains and is stronger than ever. Derrick seems to be taking it well, however, after the news hit he became a little more “testy”. I plan on sitting down with him after our company has left this weekend and talking to him. Geno’s much better at getting his true feeling out of him but I will do my best.
Xavier is a trooper. His surgery went well and after a couple LONG nights after being weaned from the vicodin and switched to tylenol things were much better. He’s doing very well and has not had ANY snoring or sleep apnea episodes. He’s also sleeping throuhg the night!! His voice seems to have gotten a little higher but it’s still cute. He also has been talking more clear and more often.
His new thing is he counts to 6. I will try to get a video of it and post it but he is so adorable when he does it.
Derrick started football last week. He is the tallest player on the team and 10 out of 18 kids are coming from flag football so this will be a learning season for most of them. They do look good though. I’m excited to start the game season in a couple weeks. Derrick has also decided that he wants to play the trumpet in the school band. Last week I went and got the trumpet and I often find him at Braxton’s practicing.
As for me…well, I completed my first 10k on the 18th of August. I did it in 1hr4min14sec. My running coach was there to cheer me on and told me given the difficulty of the course I could take a few minutes off. I accomplished my goal and I felt so good after the race. I am now planning on doing a half-marathon in December. Geno had planned on running it with me, however, given the extension I will just carry him in my heart as I run it.
I have also found out that my position at 3HC is being moved to Clinton, a town an hour east of here. I am not planning on moving with the job since it would cause a HUGE hardship on our family. They are going to offer me a severence package but as of right now they don’t know how much or the actual end date of my position. So for now I’m just cruising in the wind. I have a job “interview” on Tuesday for a lawyer who also has 2 brothers that own their own companies that are looking for help. We will see if everything falls into place, otheriwise, I will be a stay-at-home mom for a little while.
Well for now that is it… Xavier needs to get ready for bed as his routine has been turned upside down with all the excitement of Geno coming home for leave, surgery, Grandma and Mamah coming for a visit and this weekend friends from out of town….hopefully this week we can start a more “normal” schedule/routine.
Here are some pictures of Xavier playing out front yesterday while SAVAGE Mobile Car Detail was detailing the truck so we can sell it soon…
