Another week has passed…
and the countdown continues. I believe we are at 139 days and that is just until March 1st. Set dates don’t exist in the Army so March 1st has become my staple “get home now Geno date”… They recently switched their schedules so now we are back to opposite day/nights. The crappy part about that is we are now limited in the time we talk. The only good thing is we will both get semi-good nights of rest without late night talks until 2a(with the 3am night/morning being the record).
Derrick played football yesterday. The coach switched him from quarterback to running back in the beginning of the game. However, the last quarter he was back at qb and the team seemed to work better together with him in that position. They only have 2 more games left and I think Derrick is just about as happy with that as I am. He’s ready to play basketball.
Xavier is the handful he’s always been. I have found that some people may be a little unnerved by his energy but all I can say is “He’s 2. He’s a boy.” and from Geno’s view “He’s a Lolli” (I wonder how many emails I’ll get, hehehe). He truly is a blessing though and even when he’s at his worst the kid will make you smile, with a few more grey hairs. He has started saying his ABC’s all the way through. It isn’t clear but he has the tune right. As you can see by the pictures below we ventured into fingerpainting tonight. One of his masterpieces will be sent to Geno.
Well the time is growing closer - November 2nd is officially my last day. I trained two girls last week, one of which will be taking my place. They are pretty sharp (for the most part) and I think they will be just fine. I still can’t believe that the Fayetteville office will never be my “family” again. Though the work could be repetitive it was the people that made it worth going to every morning. Clinton will never be like Fayetteville. I also found out that they will NOT be giving me severence pay, which is a slap in the face. There is a long drawn out story behind it but I’m sure that is not why you came here. Geno and I have decided that I will take at least the month of November off. I WILL be looking for work, however, unless extremely necessary I won’t be starting until Dec. 1. I’m going to clean the house top to bottom, get ready for Christmas and even drive up to see my mom for Thanksgiving.
So that is about it for now. I hope everyone is well and check back again soon for new pictures and maybe even a new update.
Before the madness…
After…
