115 more days..

I’ve been trying to post an update for at least a week and a half and each time I go to write something distracts me.

So as you can see by the title we are at 115 days to go until Geno should be just about home. We don’t have a specific date so I just picked one.

My last day at 3HC was this past Friday. I was in Clinton in the morning and then headed to the Fayetteville office for a “Going Away/Baby Shower” party. The going away part was for me and the baby shower part was for a co-worker - hopefully I didn’t cause any heart attacks… It was really nice and now I’m working on taking a couple courses here on post so my resume is more competitive to get an on post job.  I’m going to be doing more cleaning over the next few days since Derrick is having a sleepover with 3 of his friends and then a birthday party on Saturday. Football season is finally over. I only say finally because after basketball season (which starts at the end of this month) Geno should be on his way home.  He had his basketball assessment this past Saturday. The coach from his last season was there and I told the sports coordinator that my son will NOT be on his team. I can’t remember if I mentioned it but this coach had the nerve to tell these kids that since they couldn’t win a game he wouldn’t coach them anymore (with 2 games still left in the season). Anyway, I was surprised to see him coaching since he also told the kids that last season would be his last so that he could focus on “winners” in the AAU league.

Xavier has started a new “sport”. We have enrolled him into tumbling.  His first class was this past Friday and he seemed to throughly enjoy it. He especially liked the bars since he could hang on them, which he did adding monkey sounds to go along with it. I will try to take pictures at his next class. We are still trucking along in the potty training area. He has good days and not so good but he’s trying.  One of the funniest things he has done this week is while watching Spiderman 3 this past weekend when Spiderman is laying on the web with his girlfriend he goes to kiss her. Xavier proclaims loudly “Ewwww kissing, yuck Mommy!” I thought it was hilarious! Xavier had a good time trick or treating this past Halloween. Derrick asked me the morning of trick or treating to pick up a costume for him - he got a “no”.  Xavier went as, you guessed it, Spiderman.

I treated Xavier to a Doodlebops concert this past Sunday. He really enjoyed it and was so surprised to see them on the stage.  He thought we were going to see a movie of the Doodlebops. He had a really good time and sang and danced along with them.  The next morning he wanted to go see the Doodlebops again but I had to break the news that they had to go see their mommys and daddys. He seemed to accept that answer and just asks to watch them on the TV now.

We are headed up to Cleveland for Thanksgiving. I’m really excited since it’s been 3 whole months since I’ve seen my mom!!!! Derrick’s excited to since it means he gets to see Torrey(one of his best friends). I’m going to be helping my mom pack some boxes - especially since her back has been bothering her. I think it’s a Thanksgiving Day curse. Her back KNOWS when it’s about Thanksgiving time and decides to start acting up.

Well, that’s about all that’s going on for now. Here are some pictures that I thought you might enjoy…
