Tomorrow’s the day…
Geno’s scheduled to be home tomorrow! I am so excited, despite not having everything done I wanted to yet. There is always early in the morning since I doubt I will be able to sleep well tonight. He called a few times from Kuwait stating he was bored out of his mind and time was moving slowly. He sounded good though and relieved to be coming home.
My mom is scheduled to be here tomorrow around 2:30pm (her plane lands about 1:45p). We hadn’t expected Geno to be here until around the 5th of March or so… which was why she’s coming tomorrow. Never fear though - she’s going to be a big help in watching the kids so Geno and I can squeeze in some date nights…
DERRICK
Derrick just finished up basketball season. They ended up in 3rd place (out of 5 teams). Their last game they only lost by 4 points…so they did well. He brought home is progress report and he had mostly A’s with only 2 B’s. So we are very proud of him. Soccer assessments are supposed to be tomorrow, however, due to Geno’s homecoming he will be going to the makeup assessment on either Tuesday or Thursday evening.
Derrick’s excited about his dad coming home from Iraq. It’s been rough for him not to have Geno here. His main objective is kicking Geno’s but in Halo 3. Ha ha ha Other then that Derrick is doing well. Growing into a fine young man…
XAVIER
Well, what can I say about this little man. He is quite the comedian. The other day I was sitting on the couch watching TV. I heard Xavier talking to me but for some reason it wasn’t registering. Well, Xavier climbs up on the couch and cups my chin in his hands while saying “Mommy, look at me.” So I look at him and his response is “Good. Now that I have your attention, I’m hungry!” I don’t know who’s eyes got wider mine or Xaviers. I just started laughing so hard. Made me wonder how often his teachers have to do that to him. He loves his veggies. Today while we were at the commissary getting food for Geno Xavier requested grape tomatoes. This little one will eat a pint of tomatoes before we even get home (which he did tonight, again). The best thing was when we got in the truck he asked me if he could eat his M&M’s. I asked him if he wanted the M&M’s or the tomatoes…he said his tomatoes. I was so proud of him. He tends to do that - choosing fruits or veggies over snack foods like french fries or candy. His daycare is required to keep a book on each child to track their progress. Mrs. Art who is Xavier’s head teacher showed me his book today (and will show it again to Geno next week). She said that he has mastered every skill in that room, with the exception of being potty trained. So that will be their focus, as well as ours, in the upcoming months.
Sarah
Well, I’m still me. I haven’t been able to run consistantly for a few months, mostly due to the weather. My asthma kicks up when it is below freezing and I become highly susceptible to broncitis and respiratory infections. of course this is what happened a few weeks ago. It started with a slight cold and over a few days turned into a full blown respiratory infection. Needless to say it took 7 days for my fever to break and I’m still not completely clear.
Well, I suppose I should get off here and start cleaning some more… only hours left…not months, weeks or days…but HOURS!!!!
