The fun begins…
Now that we finally have an internet connection we figured I should give an update. The packers/movers came last Monday and packed everything and loaded the crates by mid-afternoon on Tuesday (see picture below). On Wednesday we started cleaning and Thursday the last wave of movers came to load up the stuff to be delivered to my moms.
Wednesday was also Xavier’s last day at preschool and he was more then ready to be home. We think that with all the excitement of the packers/movers that he was becoming more angtsy. His last day we brought in cookies and we took pictures with him and his friends. Since then every morning he wakes up and asks “Do I go to preschool today?” Then gets really excited when we say no.
Derrick also had a regional track meet on Wednesday. he did pretty well and was pretty much in 2nd place the whole time, until the last 100 meters and a boy came and blew past him…Geno and I saw it coming but he did a GREAT job and ended up with a 5:35 mile.
On Friday the pre-inspection on the house was done, the boys got hair cuts, I got my hair cut, and we packed up our rental car for our trip to Ohio. We originally were going to leave at mid-night but after much discussion and thought we decided to wait and leave around 4am. This would allow all the bars to close and the drunks to get home, as well as, driving through the mountains when it was light outside.
So we left at 4am early Saturday morning, Geno signed out and we loaded the kids and Lilly into the car. The drive took us about 10 hours with a few stops so that I could stretch my legs, Xavier could release some energy and Lilly could use the bathroom.
My mom had invited family/friends in the Cleveland area to her house last night and we had a great turn out. I really appreciate those that came by to say their farewells before we left for Italy.
Lilly has been getting along with Carson, although she wants to play pretty much all the time and Carson wants nothing to do with playing. Lilly will corner Carson and not let her leave a room.
We are here until Tuesday morning. Today we are going to the Cavs vs Celtics thanks to the generosity of the Cavaliers Organization and an attorney at my mom’s office. We have also posponed Easter until tomorrow since we were way to tired last night to get Xavier’s basket ready. He has no clue so that’s ok.
We will be headed to Columbus Tuesday morning and then Middletown on Thursday. Hopefully I will be able to give another update before leaving to return to Fort Bragg.
For your viewing pleasure here are some pictures from over the last few days…
