Progress…

I’ve decided that I really need to get a move on updating this website more often.  Time gets away from me, especially since Geno’s been on leave.  He returns on Monday so we will be needing to get back on schedule. Hopefully, this will get my bottom in gear to keep those who follow this blog up to date.

So this past week I had my 28 week appointment - I’ve updated the baby blog regarding the update.  We also decided to PDO (Properly Dispose Of) our car. We’ve decided that we won’t risk selling the car to someone only to have it treat them like it’s treated us.  So as soon as we get a date on the BMW we will turn the car in for disposal.

On Wednesday we took a drive up to the mountains.  The mountains look so close but in reality they were about 50km (31 miles) away on windy roads.  Getting up the mountain was interesting. It’s a curvy road with tight turns.  It took us about an hour to reach the top (approx. 6,825 feet).  The scenery going up was incredible.  The houses are mostly stone and the clouds literally touch the countryside.  We reached our destination and Xavier thought that the top of the mountains was “the most awesomeness” - his words.  We decided to go part way into tunnels created by soldiers in the side of the mountains.  It was wet and chilly.  We didn’t go all the way since Xavier had his beloved crocs on and not tennis shoes.  After the tunnels we headed up to the monument.  There were thousands of names and we found 1 “Eugenio” and 3 “Lolli”’s.  I also took pictures of the clouds rolling in and the breaks of mountains in between.  We followed it by eating a picnic lunch and then started the journey back down the mountain. Surprisingly it only took us about 25-30 minutes to make it down.

The rest of the week we have worked on the house. We got the “OK” from the landlord to hand stuff and he told us the best way to do so.  The walls are plaster/brick. We hung the coat rack and dvd shelves today. It was ALOT easier then at Bragg believe it or not.

We have about a month or so before Geno leaves for Germany.  So our next focus is getting the baby’s room ready. We have bought just about all that we need and now it’s just trying to get it organized and put away. She has the smallest room in the house and seems to have the MOST stuff…lol

We are still working on her name. We have about 10 or so we are debating - which is the right word.  It’s hard to pick your childs name when you know it’s your last one and you want it to be perfect.  We had a boy’s name all situated - Zachery but this girl’s name thing is beyond me, hahaha.

Xavier started part time preschool and LOVES it thankfully.  He’s most excited because they do not take naps!  We are trying to get him into the pre-K class in the elementary school, however, they only take 18 children.  The pre-K class at the CDC (Child Development Center) is supposed to be as good as in the elementary school, however, we would have to pay for him to attend, whereas at the elementary school we do not.

Derrick has about a month before 8th grade starts.  He’s been a little testy - but I’ve been told that is “normal” at this age.

Well that’s about it. It’s late (midnight) and I’m ready to hit the hay. Geno should be arriving back home shortly. He had to go pick up a soldier from the airport in Venice.  Tomorrow we have to get the haircuts for Geno and Xavier - Derrick has decided that he’s not going to cut his hair until right before school starts.  I’m hoping that we can also work on the baby’s room for a little while.

I’ve posted pictures on the Flickr website of our trip to Monte Grappa - I haven’t labeled them yet and I’m not quite sure when I’m going to get the chance…
