So things have been hectic, hot and crazy here.
Geno’s been working a lot but we expected that since he is getting ready to deploy soon. We have had a lot of people ask us when but we don’t know yet. I’m hoping to find out sometime this week.
This week Geno’s company is preparing to go to Germany. They leave in a couple weeks for 3 weeks. Yes, Geno is supposed to go. This means that when he gets back I will be 37 weeks pregnant. I promised him that I wouldn’t do anything to cause myself to go into labor while he’s gone.
This past weekend we were supposed to go to the castles - Romeo & Juliet’s castle and Suave castle but Friday night he got a phone call saying he had CQ duty Saturday - 24hour shift. So that nixed our plans for this weekend. We rescheduled it to next weekend. We will also be going to the waterfall and botanical garden this weekend.
I’ve had no energy to do anything lately but I know that we need to get this house together before Geno leaves for Germany.
I have Therese coming to visit the beginning of September but she is only staying a few days with me and then travelling around Italy the rest of her vacation.
One of my friends, Julie, from here is throwing me a baby shower! She is the sweetest thing. It will be relatively small but regardless I was so touched that she wanted to throw me one, especially since this is my 3rd child. She did mention that EVERY baby should be celebrated, regardless of first or tenth.
Derrick is doing well. He leaving for Croatia with the Youth Services the week that Geno leaves for Germany. It turns out that my midwife is a parent chaperone for that trip. I told her to keep a close eye on him.
Xavier is doing great as well. He has been going to preschool and seems to like it. He has days that he doesn’t want to go and wants to stay home with me. Eventually he agrees to go but some mornings it takes a lot of coaxing. I’m hoping to hear from the elementary school about him being accepted into the Sure Start PreK class by the end of this month. It’s free which would be a HUGE help! Plus, it runs more like a school schedule 830-230 like Derrick’s school (it’s acutally located in Derrick’s school) so that picking them up can go a little more smoothly.
The biggest news is WE GOT A NEW CAR! I’m am sooo excited and in love with this car. As most of you know the car(an Alpha Romeo, pronounced ro-may-oh) we orginially bought when we arrived here to me a complete lemon. It had tried to kill us a few times - bad tires, bad wheel bearing, brakes going out while we were driving, etc. About a month or so ago we decided we really needed to get a new car and just get rid of the Alpha. We looked on the Marketplace site and found what looked like the perfect car. We called the number and Dr. Bob answered. He was really nice. We took one look at the car and I took it for a drive and I was sold. Well, we just registered it yesterday and it is OURS! It’s a 1994 BMW 520i and it is in GREAT condition. The best part is it’s an AUTOMATIC - no more shifting! I will post pictures once I get them downloaded.
Well that’s about it for now. I need to get Geno up so he doesn’t sleep all day and be up all night.
Check the Baby Chronicles as well…
